Life is Hard. You Don’t Have to Do It Alone.

Hello there! I'm Carla Pelcastre, a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Austin, Texas. Specializing in individual, teen, parental, and family therapy, my goal is to help my clients successfully navigate the waves of life.

Your Second Wave Begins Now

Second Wave Counseling was born out of a deep desire to meet people where they are and guide them on their journey towards healing and growth. Our goal is simple: to empower individuals to create the life they hope for through the therapeutic process.

In 2017 I self-published a collection of poems titled The Second Wave, Crashing. In those pages, I poured my heart and soul into sharing moments of deep gratitude, transition, and rebirth from difficult and heartbreaking moments. It’s those themes that inspired the name of my practice. Second Wave Counseling is all about embracing the resilience within ourselves, even in the face of life’s most challenging waves.

Parent Coaching

As we navigate life, we often have certain patterns that can either help or hurt us. It is my belief that therapy is the key to reinforcing the helpful ones and unlearning the ones that do us harm, giving us the freedom to move forward as we choose.
